INC 4136 Water Clarifier Intermediate is a highly effective dithiocarbamate based water clarifier intermediate. INC 4136 is used in formulating finished products to treat oil-in water emulsions in both offshore and land based treating systems. INC 4136 is amphoteric in nature and can be formulated with either cationic or anionic polymers for use in treating emulsions. Formulations based on INC 4136 are best utilized by injecting into the total fluid stream, whereby oil carryover is minimized because cleaner water is being sent to the water processing system, as well as negating any problems with solids which may be more evident by injecting into the pure water stream. In some cases, formulations based on INC 4136 have eliminated the need for secondary water clarifiers. Product Usage
    • Typical treatment rates with formulations based on INC 4136 may range between 10 and 100 ppm depending on the severity of the emulsion, retention time, and agitation in the system, as well as other system operating parameters.
    • Formulations based on INC 4136 are best applied in mixed production streams, such as upstream of a free-water knockout.
    • Optimal treatment in pure water streams would call for injecting in front of a water treating vessel such as a skimmer or a precipitator.
    • Any solids formed from waters with high concentrations of iron must be regularly skimmed from these vessels, as the solids tend to become “water-wet” and disperse throughout the water, which will result in sheening in offshore applications or plugging in SWD applications.
