INC 2226 Scale Inhibitor Intermediate is a high-calcium tolerant phosphonate scale inhibitorintermediate neutralized to a pH of 4.5. Formulations based on INC 2226 are extremely tolerant to high Calcium brines. Generally, phosphonate scale inhibitors will tend to form Calcium Phosphate when injected into produced waters containing more than about 6,000 mg./L. of Calcium. However, INC 2226 has been observed to tolerate 350,000 mg./L. of Calcium without precipitating out of solution.
