- Usage Information
- Formulations based on INC 1484 Corrosion Inhibitor Intermediate may be applied preferentially in batching operations via a chemical injection truck or wellhead lubricators.
- To establish a good initial film, it is recommended that 2 to 5 gallons of the final blend of INC 1484 be batched into the annular space, and the well put on circulation for 4 to 6 hours.
- Preferably, sufficient time should be allowed to provide more than one pass around the tubulars prior to putting the well back on production.
- Recommended dosages for batch-treatment range from 25 to 60 ppm. based on the well’s total production per treatment period, and the severity of corrosion.
- A good rule of thumb is to batch no less than one gallon per treatment, as lesser amounts may not provide sufficient product to coat the entire down-hole tubulars.
- Formulations based on INC 1484 Corrosion Inhibitor Intermediate may be injected continuously down the annular space through a side stream flush arrangement in wells which have low fluid levels or are pumped off.
- Dispersibility in the produced waters is of utmost importance, and this type of application may not be optimal in situations where high fluid levels are encountered.
- However, the dispersibility of the product may be increased by adding one-half to one gallon of INC 1801 surfactant per drum of field-strength product.
- INC 1484 Corrosion Inhibitor Intermediate may also be used to formulate corrosion inhibitors for crude oil pipelines, gas pipelines and producing well flowlines.
- Other uses may include drilling fluid corrosion inhibitors, sucker rod thread lubricants, wireline inhibitors, stuffing box lubricants, asphalt emulsifiers, pipe slick lubricants, etc.
