INC 2226 Scale Inhibitor Intermediate is a high-calcium tolerant phosphonate scale inhibitorintermediate neutralized to a pH of 4.5. Formulations based on INC 2226 are extremely tolerant to high Calcium brines. Generally, phosphonate scale inhibitors will tend to form Calcium Phosphate when injected into produced waters containing more than about 6,000 mg./L. of Calcium. However, INC 2226 has been observed to tolerate 350,000 mg./L. of Calcium without precipitating out of solution. Primarily intended for Calcium Carbonate inhibition, INC 2226 also shows activity inhibiting Calcium Sulfate scale, and good performance inhibiting Barium Sulfate.

Functions: Scale Inhibitor Intermediate

    Usage Information
    • Typical formulations range from 8 to 16 gallons of product, blended in water to 55 gals.
    • INC 2226 also blends easily with water soluble corrosion inhibitors to formulate combination corrosion/scale products.
    • Ethylene glycol at 15 to 30% by volume is recommended for winterization, although some blends may require IPA instead, particularly combination scale/corrosion products.
