INC 4120 is a highly effective water clarifier intermediate based on carbamate chemistry, used in treating oil-in-water emulsions in both offshore and land-based systems. It is amphoteric and can be formulated with cationic or anionic polymers to minimize oil carryover, improve water cleanliness, and, in some cases, eliminate the need for secondary clarifiers.

    Usage Information
    • Typical treatment rates with formulations based on INC 4110 or INC 4120 may range between 10 to 100 ppm depending on the severity of the emulsion, retention time, and agitation in the system, as well as other system operating parameters.
    • Formulations based on INC 4110 or INC 4120 are best applied in mixed production streams, such as upstream of a free-water knock-out.
    • Optimal treatment in pure water streams would call for injecting in front of a water treating vessel such as a skimmer or a precipitator.
    • Any solids formed from waters with high concentrations of Iron must be regularly skimmed from these vessels, as the solids tend to become ‘water-wet’ and disperse throughout the water, which will result in sheening in offshore applications, or plugging in SWD applications.
