MACKESTER® GDSV is a >90% vegetable-derived grade of ethylene glycol distearate, formulated for cosmetic applications. It serves as an opacifier and pearlizing agent in lotions, creams, shampoos, and hand cleansers. As a low HLB emulsifier, it stabilizes oil-in-water (O/W) and water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions. MACKESTER® GDSV is soluble in hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, and chlorinated hydrocarbons, but insoluble in water. It is fully biodegradable and preservative-free. It serves as an excellent opacifier and pearlizing agent in lotions, creams, shampoos, and hand soaps. Additionally, it functions as a low HLB emulsifier and emulsion stabilizer for both oil-in-water (O/W) and water-in-oil (W/O) systems.
